The first customs authority in Chenzhou was set up in May, 1992. In 2005, the preparations for the only export processing zone in Hunan started in Chenzhou. In September, 2007, Chenzhou office of Changsha Customs( at the division level) and Chenzhou export processing zone office of Changsha Customs was established, responsible for supervision of the means of transportation, goods and commodities of imports and exports in Chenzhou, charging tariffs, collecting import linkage tax in accordance with the law, and making customs statistics, etc.
